As a Cape Bretoner (m/c lic. plate: KAAPR;. truck: Caper)

I enjoyed the thread.  Meat Cove is a must, and while a departure from and a dirt-road-watch-out-for-the-locals road trip for a half hour off the northern end of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the view is end of the continent variety. Watch for pilot and other whales off the coast.

Louisbourg, a half-hour run from Sydney (the only city in Nova Scotia's island of Cape Breton) is the most expensive and authentic historical restoration in North America (several hundred million in 1970s dollars).  Stay for close and the firing of the cannon into the harbour!

Glace Bay's Miner's Museum is a unique trek into a coal mine, better than any video.  Have dinner at the restaurant in a genuine coal company house.

Spend the day in the Provincial Park in Mira, C.B.  Don't miss Baddeck. Yup, travel counter clockwise. Take the whalewatching tour out of Ingonish Harbour (a village outside of Ingonish!).  We saw Puffins splat across the waves with their low altitude 'flight'; porpoises; whales.  Amazing, better by far than we had seen in many other countries of the world.

Book Rita McNeil's festival in Big Pond; catch a band at the MacBouche tavern in St. Peter's; eat in Mabou, and learn about and hear the best Celtic musicians in the word ( we be talkin' Cape Breton fiddle music here!).

Aw, gotta get home again soon.

I've been elected ride captain of our American Legion Rider Chapter . I am very interested in hearing details about your trip , as I am about to plan a trip to the maritime provenceis in sept when kids go back to school . I'd like the group to see tide bore a Shediac , and maybe get the beer & lobster they used to have , the river at Moncton running backwards , magnetic hill , as well as tour Nova Scotia & PEI,

I'd also like to stop at the Canadien Legionaire Posts

Any help would be appreciated
