would have rather found a previous thread on this topic.  moderator should feel free to move the contents to the appropriate thread, if any.

thought that i would start a log for slow experiences.   thus, the techies could have something useful for their needs.

couldnt get the site to open for me this afternoon between 1-2pm, cst.  the banner would come up but the rest of the page just stalled out.  once or twice the page would look like it was there but the 'active forums' were not listed.   and clicking on the 'forum' button had the page go blank.  after an hour of fooling around, i gave up and registered for another forum in case i could never get back to this one.

nobody rides half as well as they know how.

I don't seem to have the problem...the ONGOING problem...that others have. "course, I've got dialup so I probably wouldn't notice the difference, altho in my motorhome travels, I hookup to the RV park Wi-Fi (high speed) system...and this site comes in just fine.

Since I've joined this forum, I can only remember two times where I could not get going. The last time was just the other day. Accessed the site the next day....all was well.  Our esteemed Moderator, TORQUEMAN has addressed this problem more than once...but to no avail.  I guess the powers that be don't care.

BTW...what was the "other site"?

I seem to have the same problem.  It takes for ever to load this site, and sometimes I can't get on at all.  I had the same problem when I lived in California, and with my other computers.

I had trouble yesterday also. I gave up after several tries until later at night. I hate to criticize because I like the magazine so much but if they were doing an honest review of motorcycle forums I can't imagine very favorable ratings on the responsiveness criteria for this one.

I guess it shows commitment. If you're willing to put up with old technology and slow speeds.... hey wait a minute

I frequent three other MC boards and my e-mail account.

For the last year my e-mail has been a bear to access. For the last
two days this heyarr place has made that look like a broadband connection relatively speaking. I've made several attempts to post after waiting weeks for the reply page to load, after having waited weeks for the thread to load and had the computer just sit there like an expensive paper weight.

What gives? In terms for the common eejit too? Keep that technobabble to yaselves.

I 'spose I should fess up on a couple thangs...

the computer is old

it's an iMac

I've been told by the technician that usually comes out for repairs that the phone system I'm stuck with is the oldest in the country.

Noting the above, it still doesn't make sense to me that this board and my e-mail account move so slowly, if at all. Speed on other boards hasn't decreased. However, on web sites with a load of graphics and ads etc. I get all jammed up too.

Bwana, an iMac?  You don't drive a VW and play a lot of hacky sack do you?

Mac is attempting to answer you, allow or deny?
