I've got my account set to remember my login details so all I have to do is click on a favorites button and I'm in. On occasion I have to log in as the password doesn't seem to be saved from time to time.
It ain't a big deal to me (although the older I get remembering which password goes to which forum can be a bit trying).
But anyway, I was wondering if this is done occasionally by the "system" to protect people from themselves (or imposters on their computers) or if it is just occuring with me as a result of a problem on my end.

I think it remembers your password by giving you a cookie. Those cookies expire but are updated when you log in. Because of this it always remembers my password because I don't go that long between logins. If you clear you cookies you will have to login again too.

What he said (I guess)
I get the same thing every once in a while. Although I have gone weeks between visits here and don't get asked. I don't know what determines the cause for a password challenge. One of them cyber mysteries I suppose.
