i miss the stars near my forum name. i thought it was all stars - all the time. the blank little squares seem out of place. some of us didnt get stars for anything in our lives till we got to this forum. little blank squares and no stars could be a psychic bruise. that empty square thing might be nice to re-think at the next opportunity for a forum update. whatever happens, dont give a name to the person who thought the squares was a good idea. i dont want to cross and guidelines and think unkind thoughts about them.

it is nice to be able to post tech stuff and call a "screw" a "screw". betcha, the same person who decided on the squares also decided on the morality issues, too.

Your stars are still there. Must be a browser issue on your end?

OHG, check the dates on the original posts here. I think it was some sort of glitch back then, but the stars appear to have been replaced by a line of squares with two different shades. The darker ones fill in as your post count increases. Good job it ain't based on valid content or all mine would be as pale as my posterior in winter.

looks like the stars are gone.  color too!?  somebody (ubiquitous 'they'?) just has to suck every last bit of fun out of everything. including even the most inconsequential.  but, look on the bright side. we now have emoticons.  i havent tried any because i dont know much about what they mean. havent seen any guidelines.  and would hate to appear in any of several possible imaginary poor lights.  the risk is just too overwhelming.  anybody read any terrific literature, prose or poetry, containing emoticons? lately? and i notice that there are no emoticons for any of the most important emotions?  the list of emoticoms is too confining even though i strung a series of them together in a sort of heiroglyphic attempt at substantive communication. i didnt go with it as it looked like some sort of string of "worry beads" or other religious artifact.  and we all know where that road leads?  unless all this is part of the nefarious plot for world domination?

whoever is responsible for this condition will either fix it or not.  regardless, i dont want to know anything about them.  there are already too many people carrying too much personal guilt and shame that we dont need to know about....

I think we are stuck with the squares.  It is a feature of this software.  As for the smiles I have no idea what this one means and I have been in a forum or two before.

My psyche has been irrepairably bruised by being assigned squares instead of stars. My whole approach to life has been altered. I used to have self-esteem but now the more I speak in the forum about important stuff like loud pipes, twins, Michele Smith, etc the more square I become.

Poor, poor pitiful me. Instead of increasing my star power, now the more I divulge myself of these important topics like "horsepower is your friend" and "bigger is always better" the more square I become. Now I know what poor Sponge Bob feels like. We have all become "square pants."
